The Department of Social Welfare at Gangseo University — the fourth such department established in Korea (1958) — trains social welfare professionals with empathy and rationality to prevent and resolve a wide range of social problems.
Through a curriculum designed to enhance foundational human service delivery skills, practical application of social welfare methods, and competency in social welfare policy and administration, the department aims to cultivate three types of talent: creative civil-society professionals with social welfare expertise; community-oriented individuals who drive local change; and empathy-driven collaborative professionals who practice sharing and caring.
Beyond classroom learning, students are nurtured to become community-oriented leaders who transform local society, and practical leaders who build a healthier and warmer world through the spirit of sharing.
Four undergraduate admission rounds for international students run from September 2026.
