Evidence-based counseling professionals with field-centred practical competence.

Humanities & Social

Department of Counseling Psychology

The Department of Counseling Psychology aims to nurture counseling professionals who embody expertise through evidence-based models across all psychological support activities, demonstrate outstanding practical competence in field-centred work, and possess the creativity to contribute to spreading a healthy counseling culture for our times.

To this end, the department provides education in counseling theories and techniques, and strengthens practical counseling competencies through field practicum. Furthermore, by cultivating ethical awareness and a sense of community, the department helps students grow into counseling psychology professionals who support psychological growth and recovery based on an understanding of and empathy for others.

Through the professional curriculum, students may obtain the nationally recognised Youth Counselor Level 3 and Vocational Counselor Level 2 certifications, as well as Reading Therapist and Counseling Psychologist qualifications. Graduates may pursue careers at child and youth counseling centres, youth support centres, and healthy family support centres, or continue to graduate school in counseling and clinical fields.
